Oh! Macro Monday is a copy-cat from Tranquility Cove.
Holy Cow!!!!! Is this for real?
It's amazing! You've managed to zoom in to such an extent that its multiple eyes can be seen very clearly!
This is an excellent shot. The details are stunning. Have a great week.
What a super duper closeup!
nice shot gallicissa !
Amazing! A macro, indeed!!
Hi Sasani,
Yes - it is!
This was the first time I came across the female form of this. I had a male with full 'bloodtail' in my home garden on 5 Sep, 2004. Thereafter, a young male was shot at Kurunegala on 9 Dec, 2004.
I had no sightings of this species until this individual turned up in my home garden last Friday.
Hi Chrisss,
I copied the concept 'Macro Monday' from you. Thanks for that and for your comments. Have a super week!
Hi Tabib,
Glad you liked it. It gave me a full session in great light. I took so many pictures - and some are definite 'keepers'!
Thanks a lot Horukuru!
Glad you liked it. This was a truly spectacular dragonfly and I am glad I was there to welcome it after many years.
Hi Pat,
Thanks! I was quite pleased that it tolerated my close approaching.
Of course I used my extreme stealth mode!
That is a wonderful photograph - thank you. The things I never see!
Hi Dominic,
Thanks a lot! Great to hear from you. I quite enjoy hunting dragons - they are fun.
Holey Moley! What a great photo! You have outdone yourself!!! I love her mustache. She may want to think about getting rid of that--or--maybe its attractive in young nubile dragonfly. Bev
WOW!!!!
amazing detail, especially the eyes, the many, many eyes!!
I really have to get a macro lens for next summer.........that dragonfly headshot is amazing.
Hi Bev,
Thanks a lot!
Her looks grossly violate our gender stereotypes and I too think she'd look far better without that stubble
Thanks, Leedra!
Pleased to hear from you.
Hi Margerie,
I was very pleased it allowed close approaching to get its eyes in focus like this.
Hi Stu,
A special macro lens would be a good addition for your set up. You'll also need to factor in a decent macro flash.
I haven't got one yet but feel the need strongly.
WOW... this is a fabulous close up.
Absolutely fantastic! Wow!
Hi Tommy,
Thank you! Glad you turned up.
Hi Sweet idiot,
Thanks a lot! Pleased to hear from you. Have a super day!
Beautiful!!...oh, I so would love to have a camera such as yours...better yet...know how to use it like you do!
Hi Spookydragonfly,
Thanks! My new toy is pretty heavy. You feel it especially when you do not use a tripod. I started using it on 16 Sep and this beauty turned up on the 19th!!
Wow, I'm blown away. Fantastic!
Thanks as always OC!
She turned up in the same spot today too! I hope her mate turns up one of these days.
He is pretty gaudy!
