Macro Monday

Common Shrub Frog

I shot this one to be used one day,

in a themed post named ‘Macro Monday’.

One of the good-looking Rhacophorid members,

Common Shrub-frog is found in big numbers.

Frogs cannot get sweeter than this, can they?

Macro Monday HQ is at Lisa's Chaos.

Cool shot Amila. Maybe you could explain about the throat distension / calling for the folk who may not know about it?

Long live froggies!

Cheers!

Hi Tabib,
That’s how I like it! Yes it is quite a noisy one.

Hi Java,
Thanks!
Yes, the vocal sac as it is there to amplify their sound to call out for and to impress them, and also to repel rival mates by showing an apparent increase in size and therefore being more formidable.

Hi Kim,
This one is quite tiny - 17.7-24.7mm from snout to vent in males and would not be able to take in a big dragonfly in my reckoning. Glad you liked my owl – it is an old one.

Hi Dagrun,
Thanks! It took a while to get the lighting right as this was shot at night.

Hi Mamapippa,
Glad we are in agreement!

Thanks Rosidah! Pleased you liked it.

Hi Margie,
It is not the usual frog pose, thanks!

Hi YETG,
Thanks! I am pleased to hear that.

Hello Shammickite,
Thanks! Glad you too think that it is sweet!

Thanks Mountain Mama!
Good to hear from you.

Hi Alexandria,
Thanks! I am glad to have brought out the cuteness of it!

Thank you Martha!

Hi Kevin,
Thanks you!

Hi Lisa,
Good to hear such a positive comment from from the hostess!

Hi Vickie,
I had a delicate balancing act with this one with my torch, camera + lens + flash (with no tripod support) and I am very pleased with the results.

Long time no see.
Is that you or your cat speaking?
He looks as if he is about to pounce on my frog!

As you can see I am very well, thanks! Have a super weekend!
