Macro Monday

Asian Pintail Acisoma panorpoides panorpoides—adult female.

This was photographed in my local patch a few days ago. It is often found quite low down among the vegetation. So it is not the easiest dragon to photograph.

By the way, one of my dragon shots emerged the winner as the Best Dragonfly Moments Macro Capture of 2008—in a contest in Flickr. Click here to see all the entries and the voting process and here to see the winning shot of mine announced.

A momentous day for mankind!

I'm impressed!!...not surprised, though, Amila. You seem to have a natural talent here...this photo is amazing. A momentous day for mankind, indeed...they should've honored you with something...at least a bronze statue, yes?! Seriously, Congratulations!!(have I mentioned I'm jealous???)

Thanks a lot, Vickie!
The colour pattern of the Asian Pintal is quite eye catching. Its male is much nicer.

Hello Gallicissa:
First I would like to say that I enjoyed your visit. I’ve been busy getting ready for the winter here and have neglected my blog. Your visit might get me back into the groove, you might say, of up-dating it.
Secondly, I would like to commend you on your achievements and your photography, all your pictures are just great….! Again, thanks for your visit, you are always welcome………

Hi J.D,
Sorry I overlooked to reply you first! I agree, that blogging can at times be a pretty time consuming affair. And it is better to follow the middle path like in other things in life.

Thanks a lot for your compliments on my images. I will drop by your blog again for sure!
