Great macro work that shows all the detail in the compound eyes and all the hairs at labrum, mandible and labium.
Congratulation!
Fantastic photo, Amila! Love how you've captured those compound eyes! Wonderful!
Hi Bobbie,
Thanks a lot! My breath is often taken by your superb underwater imagery.
Hi Indrani,
Thanks! Dragonfly eyes can be mesmerizing, so I am not surprised!
Hi Sandy,
Thanks a lot! Glad you liked it. Have a super day!
Hi onlooker,
Thanks a lot! This is the commonest dragonfly in my yard and therefore it is my ‘test’ species. So, I get a lot of time with it.
Hi jams,
Thanks! This is a female – And I too think it needs a shave!
BTW, you are the second gentleman touch on this sensitive issue.
Hi CK-II,
Thanks! You too have got lovely pics for this WW.
Hi Gandalf and Grayson,
Thanks! I photographed hand held and in natural light. A tripod mounted shot taken in good macro light would have yielded an even sharper image.
Hi gail,
Thank you! Macro photography opens a whole new world and I am glad share what I achieve.
Hi TheWhacksteR,
Thanks a lot! Good to hear from you. Being rather fussy (as most photographers are), I would have liked it to be touch sharper than this to be honest!
Hi Sasani,
Glad it turned you speechless and wordless! That’s the idea on Wordless Wednesdays!!
Hi Robin,
Yes, compound is the right way to describe their eyes. Glad you liked it.
Hi Sheila,
Thanks! You ought to be a tough Sheila and not get scared by a dragonfly!!
Hi twobarkingdogs,

Hi Lori,
Sorry about that! Next time, I will drop by your blog only when I have a non-bug post.
I am sure it is a good deal.
Hi Eastcoastlife,
Those eyes have that effect! I am pleased to hear from you.
Hi Klaus,
It is always a big compliment to hear this from you!
Thanks, Tabib!
I find myself deleting lots at the moment as I do not have a special macro flash yet. When I get it in the future, hopefully there will be more keepers such as this.
Thanks, Pat! I was trying to do that. The light was helpful as took it without flash.

Hi Markus,

Thank you very much, Chistopher!
I am very pleased to read your praises on my photography.
I've spent a long time playing around with point and shoots before I bought my Canon 40D on 15 Sep.
Now the play time is over!
